A Chihuly Christmas Tree!
A field trip on December
11, 2008 took our kids to the Desert Botanical
Gardens in Phoenix. Ms. McDermott, art teacher at
MCS, had been 
preparing them for a day decorating a
Christmas tree for the public to see. Using
techniques employed by Dale Chihuly,
world-renowned glass artist, the kids made ornaments
in class that now decorate that tree.
As one visitor said, "Oh, I thought those were Chihuly's! Well, these kids are future Chihulys, then!
"

NBC affiliate, Channel 12, featured our kids on the news
at 6 pm and 10 pm on December 11.
